New Scholarships:

  1. Florida JCI Senate Scholarship Foundation- Each year, the U.S. Junior Chamber International (JCI) Senate Foundation grants $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who plan to continue their education at an accredited post-secondary college or university or who plan to attend an accredited vocational or industrial school. The number of grants awarded annually is at the discretion of the Foundation and must be used for educational expenses in the first year of full-time study. The scholarship list can be seen below with more information detailed here:

ØRichard Harrow Scholarship - based on needs and merit

Ø Cactus Jack Sewell Scholarship - based on merit and a senior seeking a degree in the Criminal Justice Field (which is a wide field)

Ø Florida Jaycees/Jaycettes Scholarship as well as other unnamed Scholarship - based on merit for Florida High School Seniors

Ø Doug White Memorial Scholarship – based on merit and needs

Ø Florida Foundation Scholarship - based on merit

ØPaul Chesler Scholarship - based on merit and a Vo-Tech field

ØRemonda Victoria Highfield Scholarship - based on merit and entering the medical field in any capacity

Burger King Foundation Scholarship- The scholarship is open to all seniors and eligible Burger King employees. Applicant submissions will be capped at 50,000. Access to the application will no longer be available once this number is reached or the deadline has passed, so do not wait to apply. Following the application submission deadline date, Scholarship America, the organization administering the scholarship, will review applications for eligibility. Scholarship America will make the following award selections:  Up to 3 James W. McLamore WHOPPER® scholarships of $60,000 granted to the most highly qualified students demonstrating leadership, substantial work experience and financial need, One (1) Nancy McLamore Scholarship of $20,000, Up to six (6) King Awards at $10,000 granted to the most qualified employee in each region (1 award per region), Up to twelve (12) regional awards of $5,000 granted to the most qualified employees in each of the six (6) regions (2 awards per region), There are a number of special-named, several employee-based track, and general high school senior track awards for various franchisees which are determined annually based on funds raised.

GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship- The GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program offers college scholarships of up to $40,000 for high school seniors nationwide who showcase leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship. Easy to apply and will change students’ lives.

·   Deadline: January 3, 2025

·   Award: $10,000 each year (renewable up to $40,000)

Project Weather Scholarship- (flyer attached) The Project Weather Scholarship is a one-time award given to one student attending a public, private, home, or parochial school in each of the following counties: Brevard, Flagler, Lake, Marion, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Sumter, and Volusia.

Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship- (flyer attached) The Jackie Robinson Foundation provides a multi-faceted experience designed to not only address the financial needs of students who aspire to attend college but guide them through the process of higher education.

JFK Profiles in Courage Essay Contest- In Profiles in Courage, John F. Kennedy recounted the stories of eight U.S. senators who risked their careers to do what was right for the nation. These leaders demonstrated political courage by taking a stand for the public good in spite of pressure by interest groups, their political party, or even their constituents. The Profile in Courage Essay Contest challenges students to write an original and creative essay that demonstrates an understanding of political courage as described by John F. Kennedy in Profiles in Courage.

  • UNCF Scholarships- UNCF envisions a nation where all Americans have equal access to a college education that prepares them for rich intellectual lives, competitive and fulfilling careers, engaged citizenship and service to our nation. Bridges to Success (BTS) is a program that helps students transition from high school to college and through their first two years. 

BTS offers a variety of support services, including: 

  • Academic and financial support 
  • Mentoring 
  • Leadership development 
  • Community service opportunities 
  • Weekly skillshops 
  • Individualized attention from faculty and staff 

How to Apply:

You must first apply to Valencia College prior to applying to the Bridges Summer Program. Once you receive an acceptance letter with your assigned Valencia College Identification Number, also referred to as your (VID #), follow the directions in the letter to set up your atlas account.

To submit an application for the Bridges Summer Program:

  • Log into your Atlas account
  • Click the "Students" tab
  • In the "Student Forms" section, click on "Applications"
  • Click Bridges To Success Application

Application Deadline: Bridges Summer Program Application is open until February 1, 2024 6:00PM (EST)

  1. Horatio Alger Scholarships- The Horatio Alger Association offers multiple undergraduate and career/technical scholarships for promising students with critical financial need, who demonstrate integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity and are determined to succeed.
